Lost planet 2 pc gfwl patch Pc#
So, if you're reading this and trying to decide between PC and console, go with the PC if you have an up to date three and a half feet, I lean back on my very comfortable chair. Maybe if they put DR2 on sale during one of their crazy Steam sales. Oh well, money spent and time invested, no point in going back now. I didn't know if this was going to be a 'good' PC port, or if it was going to be one of those 'no better than the console' ports. I was, however just listening to the Bombcast while taking care of the dishes, and hearing them talk about the game running at 1920x1080 at a solid 60fps with snap-fast load times. I also held GFWL against the PC version, because I didn't really want to have to mess with that, or get those dubious PC achievements on my record (merely personal preference). In the end I decided that I would go with the 360 because I had played the first on on the 360 (obviously), I had played Case Zero, and I might play co-op with it eventually. I have a great gaming computer, and I had a hard time deciding between getting the game on PC or my 360. I'm really enjoying DR2 so far, I've put a dozen hours in or so - enough to play the first bit a few times and go on a survivor-only run through to the D ending and end up at level 37 or so. So, if you're reading this and trying to decide between PC and console, go with the PC if you have an up to date box. It's sad M$ is shutting down GFWL, i hope their next service (if there's one) will be better.I'm really enjoying DR2 so far, I've put a dozen hours in or so - enough to play the first bit a few times and go on a survivor-only run through to the D ending and end up at level 37 or so.

2K was really nice, they gave away Bioshock 2 dlc for free for anyone who already owned the game, and Rocksteady gave the GOTY edition of Arkham City to anyone who had the base game (whom still has GFWL, only the GOTY was patched out).

So the developers feel the need to patch their games so they won't have more problems for the time being. It's a really good move, actually, because usually people don't like GFWL with all of it's problems, and don't really care about achievements. It's the publishers/developers of the games that are doing this, because they don't want the their playerbase not being able to play their games after GFWL shuts down next year. And it's not Valve either (Steam's owner).

It seems that Steam has decided to take a heavy handed, Soviet-style approach to this issue unfortunately. It's not Steam. Steam has already announced that their next targets for GfWL removal are Bulletstorm, Dark Souls, and Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. The patch notes for the Arkham games specifically state that all previous save data will indeed be lost for good, so it looks like anyone with previous save data will definitely get screwed :/īioshock 2 and both Batman Arkham games have already gone through the GfWL chopping block. On a side note, sorry to all those who have lost their save data in Batman Arkham Asylum/City. It seems that Steam has decided to take a heavy handed, Soviet-style approach to this issue unfortunately.

Booting up Steam in offline mode is the only option if you want to hold off the changes (for up to 6 months).īioshock 2 and both Batman Arkham games have already gone through the GfWL chopping block. Simply setting your games to not auto-update will not spare you from losing GfWL and the Xbox achievements. Again, these are forced updates, so you must eventually accept them if you want to continue playing the games in your Steam library. Steam is systematically removing GfWL from most (if not all) of their games.
